MIRPUR KHAS: The sale of traditional sweets is on the rise in Mirpurkhas District as people have thronged sweet shops to buy the delicious treats for friends, family and neighbors.
Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) is celebrated with great enthusiasm by the Muslims around the world. In Mirpurkhas District also People decorate their homes and prepare sumptuous sweet dishes for family and friends on the occasion of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW). From the beginning of the Islamic month of Rabi-ul-Awwal, sale of sweetmeats got high as people serve different traditional sweets such as `Jalabi’, `Chumchum’, `Shakar Paray’ in the sessions of Milad held at their homes and mosques.
Like all over the world, people of Mirpurkhas also follow the tradition and exchange sweets with their loved ones or relatives and serve traditional desserts to the guests.
According to shopkeepers, business had boomed by 100 to 200pc as people are buying sweets for their homed and as gift for others. They said that sale of sweetmeats had doubled from the beginning of the month of Rabi-ul-Awwal and expected to go high as Eid-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) is approached near. During a visit of Mirpurkhas District markets, people were seen standing in queues in front of sweet shops wait for their turn to buy sweets. Many people place advance orders in order to avoid any hindrance or delay in delivery of sweets to them, the salesman added.
