GUJRANWALA: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Secretary Information Sagheer Butt on Saturday said that the government has failed to facilitate the citizens in getting their computerized national identity cards.
All the parliamentarians of Gujranwala, including a federal minister belong to PML-N but despite repeated public demands to increase NADRA staff and offices they were failed to fulfill this genuine demand of their voters. Long queues of men and women can be seen at early in the morning outside the NADRA office including executive center on GT Road while NADRA staff are in a habit of starting the office work late which agonised the citizens. The citizens said that there are no separate seating arrangements for women visiting the NADRA outlets in the city. There is also a shortage of staff in NADRA offices. Citizens alleged that NADRA executive centers have also failed to give relief to the customers.
“No specific criteria are observed to appoint a person to head a centre which is the most important slot as it is directly related to public dealing.”
Butt demanded that the Interior Ministry resolve the problems and more NADRA offices along with proper staff should be established in Gujranwala while a suitable sitting arrangement for citizens outside the NADRA offices should also be made.
