ISLAMABAD: Chairman Senate Mian Raza Rabbani on Tuesday said the Iranian people had lost a great leader and Pakistan had lost a true friend with the death of Ayatollah Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani. He expressed these views while recording his impressions in the condolence book during his visit to the Embassy of The Islamic Republic of Iran, today, to condole the death of the former Iranian leader and President Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani. Rabbani, while condoling the death ofthe former President of Iran with Ambassador of Iran in Pakistan Mehdi Honardoost, said that the Muslim world had lost a great visionary leader. He said that Mr. Rafsanjani played a dynamic role to further strengthen the already strong friendship between Pakistan and Iran which is based on common religion, culture and identity of views. Chairman Senate prayed for the departed soul and conveyed his condolences to the people of Iran at this great loss.
