KARACHI: Cadet College Larkana student Muhammed Ahmed who had been the target of inhumane torture by his teacher is currently anticipating financial aid. He was paralyzed due to his teacher’s barbaric attitude and the Sindh government declared to send him for treatment to United States.
Muhammed Rashid, father of the tortured boy stated that the father and son had been issued US visa valid for 6 months for treatment at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.
Rashid reported that the cost of the treatment was approximately $250,000.
According to Sindh Health Minister Dr Sikander Mahendro, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah had approved to provide Rs 50 million for the treatment and the funds were released by Sindh Accountant General.
Sindh Chief Minister requested the US Consul General to provide early visa issuance for the 14-year-old Ahmed. He personally handed over the travel documents of the father and son to the US Counsel General.
Sindh government ignored the issued until media highlighted the barbaric act. Authorities took over after the issue was covered by the media.
The assault had taken place in August last year. Larkana Cadet College had informed Ahmed’s father that he was suffering from fits.
Ahmed’s father had found his son critically wounded with bruises all over his body.
Doctors confirmed that Ahmed had been a target of assault.
