ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday dismissed a plea challenging the appointment of the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) and Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) members on non-maintainability grounds.
A single bench, consisting of Justice Aamir Farooq heard the petition moved by Kasur union council member Muhammad Anwar.
The petitioner’s counsel Riaz Hanif Rahi alleged that the CEC and ECP members did not meet the criteria for their posts due to their age.
The bench, after the preliminary hearing of the case, termed it as non-maintainable and dismissed the petition.
