ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court (SC) set aside the review appeal of opponent candidate of Pakistan People Party (PPP) Arif Jan, upholding Pakistan Muslim League-Q’s (PML-Q) leader Amanullah’s victory in PB39 election petition case.
Three-member bench, headed by Justice Dost Muhammad Khosa, heard the case. Justice Khosa expressed concerned over forwarding the case to National Database Registration Authority (NADRA) for electoral votes verification.
Justice Qazi Faez asked the counsel questioned the appeal, saying that will it not be illegal to give the right of verification to NADRA?
It is pertinent to mention here that PML-Q candidate Amanullah defeated his opponent in general election 2013 but later, his victory was challenged by his opponent.
