ISLAMABAD: The first phase of census came to a successful end on Wednesday, the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics informed.
Reports stated that homeless people were approached in the wee hours of Wednesday, while drug addicts present outside hospitals, parks and on footpaths were approached by census staff accompanied by army personnel.
The second phase of the census is scheduled to begin from March 31.
Earlier the first phase of the sixth census of the country began from March15 in which over 450,000 government employees took part accompanied by military personnel.
Exams would be conducted as per schedules and schools would remain open during the census.
