PESHAWAR: Former President and co-chairman of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday took a swipe at the Pakistan Tehree-e-Insaf-led government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), saying he has seen no ‘change’ during his five day visit to Peshawar.
He made the observation during a visit to the residence of veteran ANP leader Ghulam Ahmed Bilour in Peshawar. “I have long association with KP and Peshawar. Ghulam Ahmed Bilour has been a friend of my father,” he said on his first visit to Peshawar ever since the martyrdom of Benazir Bhutto in a bomb and gun attack in December 2007.
“I have learned a lot about politics and current affairs from Bilour. I have been encouraged by the warm reception I got from my Pashtun brothers,” he said. To a question, he said that he has seen no change in Peshawar.
He said that he has no match with Imran Khan, saying that he has match with this earth as it is his mother. He said that he paid more visits to China than the incumbent rulers, saying that news has been published in the New York Times against the prime minister and he should reply to that news.
Opposition Leader Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah, Senator Ilyas Bilour and other leaders were also present on the occasion.
