MUZAFFARABAD: Six people were killed and 26 others injured on Thursday when a coaster fell into a deep ditch near Hajira in the Poonch district of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
According to police, the coaster was coming from Rawalpindi and heading towards Haveli when the driver lost control at Akhoor Ban and fell into a deep ditch.
The deceased passengers, which included two women and a child, were identified as Zahid Nazam, Waqar Ahmad, Zuhra Begum, Gulnaz Begum, minor Zehra and Saleem.
The injured were shifted to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Hajeera. Two people who were seriously injured were shifted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Rawalakot where their condition was soon deemed stable.
A police official said that the accident occurred at around 12:45 am due to the negligence of the driver. The police have registered a case and started an investigation into incident.
