ISLAMABAD: The combing operation has been stepped up on its third day across the country against the terrorists, as over 500 suspected people including major terrorists were rounded up during operations in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Sialkot, Mandi Bahauddin, Pindi Bhatian, Murree and Swabi.
Meanwhile, 12 suspects were nabbed from Sehwan, three days after a devastating suicide bombing claimed over 84 lives.
Following a series of terrorist incidents in the country, security forces, Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and police launched operations and apprehended hundreds of suspicious people.
As many as 87 including two foreigners were taken into custody from Rawalpindi. These suspects were apprehended from Taxila, New Town, Wah Saddar, Thana City, Railway Station and Murree areas.
The number of combined check posts of Pakistan Army and police has been increased in the cities.
As many as 143 others including dozens of Afghan nationals were rounded up from Mandi Bahauddin and 16 others were arrested from Pindi Bhatian.
Meanwhile, Airport Security Force arrested two suspects from Lahore airport. The two were spotted involved in dubious movements near the runway. The duo has been shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation.
23 people, who were taken in custody from Pindi Bhatian, were released after they produced their complete identification data.
244 suspects were arrested during search operations in different areas of Swabi on Monday morning.
The arrests also included fifteen facilitators of terrorists, weapons and ammunition were also recovered from them.
86 suspects including Afghan nationals were arrested during search operations in Rawalpindi on Monday morning. Police, Rangers and other security forces personnel took part in the joint operations.
