MIRPUR KHAS: World Tuberculosis Day was observed on March 24 (Friday) at Muhammadi Medical Hospital Mirpurkhas. With an aim to raise public awareness about tuberculosis and the efforts made to prevent and treat the disease, the theme of World TB Day 2017 is “Unite to End TB”. There were various World Tuberculosis Day events and activities organized by Muhammad Medical Hospital Mirpurkhas and various organizations to prevent and treat tuberculosis. Photo exhibitions showcased images to raise awareness of TB. It commemorates the day in 1882 when Dr Robert Koch astounded the scientific community by announcing that he had discovered the cause of tuberculosis.
