ISLAMABAD: The director general of South Asia and South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SA & SAARC), Dr Muhammad Faisal, summoned Indian Deputy High Commissioner JP Singh and condemned the unprovoked ceasefire violation by the Indian occupation forces along the Line of Control (LoC). The DG said that deliberate targeting of civilians was indeed condemnable and contrary to human dignity and international human rights and humanitarian laws. He urged the Indian side to respect the 2003 ceasefire understanding; investigate this and other incidents of ceasefire violations; instruct the Indian forces to respect the ceasefire in letter and spirit and maintain peace along the LoC. It is important to mention here that Indian occupation forces violated the ceasefire on April 1 at 4:40pm along the LoC in Chirikot sector, resulting in the martyrdom of an 18-year-old civilian, Muhammad Attique Qureshi, son of Muhammad Khalil Qureshi and a resident of Polas village.
