RAWALPINDI: Five terrorists were killed and 11 apprehended during search and intelligence-based operations across the country, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Thursday.
ISPR, the military’s media wing, stated that security forces conducted 29 cordon and search operations and 12 intelligence-based operations in parts of Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and FATA.
During an intelligence-based operation in the Gawak area of Mand, Balochistan, five terrorists were killed. Two FC officials were also injured in the operation.
Deputy Commissioner Kech Sirmad Ali Khan said they were involved in a series of terrorist activities in the area, he claimed.
In KP, a terrorist plot was foiled by the Frontier Constabulary in Bar Qambar Khel, Bara in Khyber Agency. During the operation, two terrorists, Shahid and Abdul Raziq, who were planning a major terrorist attack based on foreign directives, were apprehended, the ISPR revealed. A large quantity of explosives was also recovered from the terrorists.
