LAHORE: Heavy fog descended in Lahore and adjoining areas in the early morning of Tuesday, causing suspension of flight operations and closure of several sections of the motorway.
Allama Iqbal Airport authorities informed that heavy fog prompted the suspension of local and international flights. The resumption is expected at dawn.
Meanwhile, zero visibility at the motorway forced National Highway Authority (NHA) and Motorway Police (MP) to close down several sections for the traffic
According to NHA and MP, Lahore to Pindi Bhattiyan, Lahore to Sheikhupura and Pindi Bhattiyan to Faisalabad sections are closed until improvement in visibility.
The authorities have advised citizens to avoid unnecessary travel.
