KARACHI: Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) MPA Nusrat Sahar Abbasi has warned that she will self-immolate herself if Minister for Works and Services Imdad Pitafi is not removed as provincial minister within the next two days.
Talking to media on Monday, Nusrat was seen clutching a bottle of petrol in her hand. She said that she would pour petrol and burn herself if justice was not served in two days.
Nusrat gave an ultimatum of two days to the Pakistan People’s Party to fire Pitafi. She said, “Working women are harassed, my children are asking Bilawal for justice.”
The MPA pleaded to the PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto and his siter Bakhtawar for justice. She lamented that this was not just her personal matter but an issue for all working women.
She added, “I am being stopped from doing my work.” Nusrat said that her family had asked her to give up politics after Pitafi’s remarks.
Earlier, Imdad Pitafi had apologised to Nusrat Sahar for his comments but Nusrat refused to let go of the matter until an inquiry was initiated against Pitafi.
PPP Sindh President and Parliamentary Leader in the House, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro had issued a show cause notice to Pitafi over the incident, after Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had taken notice of the incident.
