GILGIT-BALTISTAN: The Gilgit-Baltistan Disaster Management Authority (GBDMD) on Thursday advised commuters to avoid travelling on Karakoram Highway (KKH) for the next 24 hours as snowfall and land sliding had blocked the road on various points.
A spokesman for GBDMD said that heavy rains for the third consecutive day had paralysed the normal life, while three to five feet of snowfall was been recorded.
He said that the KKH was blocked at Lal Pari and Kohistan area and authority was engaged in clearing the road within the next 24 hours, adding that no causality was reported from any part. However, two people, riding on a vehicle, were injured near Kohistan due to land sliding.
