KARACHI: A collision between a bus and oil tanker on Tuesday near Sassi Toll Plaza resulted in the deaths of six people, including a woman while 27 others were injured.
According to rescue sources, the brakes of the bus failed resulting in its collision with the oil tanker.
The bodies and the injured were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities and treatment, respectively.
According to JPMC official Dr Semin Jamali, three bodies and 20 injured had been brought to the hospital.
Jamali said that several victims were in critical condition and the death toll may rise.
According to the Malir Police Senior Superintendent, the crash was the result of negligence and over speeding. One of the survivors also mentioned that the bus was overcrowded.
