LAHORE: The Punjab Apex Committee was held on Sunday and efforts to counter terrorism were discussed in it.
The purpose of the meeting was to shed light on the efforts made by the civil and military forces to combat the menace of terrorism.
The meeting was presided over by Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and attended by Lahore Corps Commander Lieutenant General Sadiq Ali, National Security Advisor Lieutenant General (retd) Nasir Janjua and other senior military officers.
Shahbaz showing his confidence said that the army is capable of dealing with internal and external challenges.
He expressed hope that terrorism will completely end with the recently initiated Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad.
The committee was also expected to review the security for the final match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), which is scheduled to be held at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on March 5. However, no decision regarding it has been announced as of yet.
The question is still under focus whether the final is to be played in Lahore or will it be played somewhere else as we have just a week to go before the final of the second edition of the PSL.
