ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and parliamentary secretary MNA Maiza Hameed on Friday strongly criticised the political vision of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, claiming that the former cricketer was ‘afraid’ of the growing popularity of Maryam Nawaz.
Addressing the media, she said instead of using cheap tactics against the government and abusing on national television in frustration, Imran Khan should focus on bringing health reforms in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
“He (Imran) has no interest in facilitating the masses of KP. He just wants to create chaos in the country by spreading hatred among the masses. The PTI chief should rethink his strategy and must understand that his immature statements were having a negative impact on the younger generation,” she added.
The MNA claimed that owing to the increasing popularity of Maryam Nawaz, Imran was in a state of perplexity, as he could also see his dreams of becoming the next PM fading away.
“No surprises that the PTI leaders and workers use inappropriate language against Maryam Nawaz. I believe they also see the PM’s daughter as the biggest threat in their leader’s aspiration of becoming the next PM,” the PML-N leader affirmed.
On a query, Maiza Hameed said that appropriate steps were being taken to eliminate terrorism under the military operation RaddulFassad. “PML-N envisions rooting out the menace of extremism in the country and would go to any extent in order to facilitate the armed forces in this regard,” she added.
