LAHORE: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that Ulema should assist the government in the removal of the extremist interpretations of Islam and encourage tolerance.
Speaking at a Seminar in Jamia Naeemia on Saturday, he said “”Blood is being shed in the country in the name of religion, you can solve this problem,” while addressing religious scholars present in the audience.
Nawaz added that people had hijacked religion for their wrongful agendas, and that students from all school of thoughts come to Jamia Naeemia.
The premier asked Ulema to reject any arguments prorogated by the terrorists.
