LAHORE: While distributing laptops in 54 male and female students of the Sikh community at Gurdwara Janam Asthan Nankana Sahib on Saturday, Provincial Higher Education Minister Syed Raza Ali Gillani said that the Punjab government introduced holistic reforms in the higher education sector in order to compete with international standards.
The minister said that information technology’s promotion was a huge step that helped students in improving their intellectual knowledge and in strengthening their ideas. This facility has noticeably increased the learning potentials of students and empowered them intellectually.
Gillani said that easy access to information technology was the first step towards technology-driven knowledge and economy. Information technology helps in determining future directions and provides an understanding on how technology can support both research and academic sides of the institution.
Provincial Minorities Affair Minister Tahir Khalil Sindhu also spoke on the occasion and urged the students to use the facility of laptops correctly and perform well in their studies. Later, Raza Gillani and Tahir Khalil Sindhu distributed laptops among the students. Several Sikh community leaders thanked the Punjab government for supporting the students.
