ISLAMABAD: The deputy chairman of NADRA and members of an FIA investigation team constituted to probe the matter of the sexual harassment of a female official are allegedly involved in blackmailing the victim.
According to details, the female victim has appealed to the Interior Minister to take notice of this alarming incident and conduct a transparent inquiry.
According to details, Ms Bokhari, a female deputy assistant director at NADRA, said that the state institution should be protected from elements harassing female employees.
“NADRA Deputy Chairman Muzaffar Shah has offered me lucrative things, including promotion, furnished residential apartment and other incentives, to establish friendship and illicit relations with him,” she alleged, and maintained that she had categorically rejected all those lucrative offers.
She said that later a fake and baseless case was initiated against her in the department, and an inquiry committee was formed, which acquitted her. She said that after the incident, the deputy chairman started harassing her. She further said that all her juniors had been promoted to the next grade, but she was being humiliated. She also alleged that FIA officials had extended threats to her, but she did not compromise her self-respect.
“If the Interior Ministry and NADRA authorities do not take any notice of this incident, the female employees will be subjected to harassment by such elements,” she said. She urged Interior Minister Ch Nisar Ali Khan to hold a transparent inquiry into the harassment case and bring to justice the elements involved in it.
