ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan says media has the most crucial role to play in disseminating the credible information keeping in view the national interest.
On Saturday, he said incidents of terrorism have significantly declined due to effective security measures taken by the government during last three years.
Referring to the terrorist incident in Sehwan Sharif, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said maintenance of law and order in Sindh was the sole responsiblity of the provincial government for which Federal Government should not be maligned.
He urged media to focus on promoting national cohesion and courage among the people.
He said it is very important for the media to blacklist the terrorist organizations and do not air any content glorifying militancy.
He said since the adoption of National Action Plan (NAP) to this day, the Government has focused on sharing and discussion with all stake holders including the media.
