LAHORE: Former governor of Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar has said that merit, good governance and justice have disappeared from the country. He made these comments while speaking to different delegations in his office on Saturday.
The former governor said that the rule of law and supremacy of constitution is essential for country, and that a weak system of accountability is producing chaos and anarchy in country.
He said that real democracy and free and fair accountability is the need of the hour and that corruption and bad governance are the problems of the whole country which needs collaborative effort.
Sarwar further said that progress and development is not possible without the eradication of corruption. He added that government should take profound steps to eradicate the corruption and other menaces in the country.
He added that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has always exercised democratic and constitutional rights to raise their voice. Opposition parties must raise their voice on all platforms irrespective of any difference amid the opposition ranks by ignoring their personal interests. “Accountability will establish the rule of law and supremacy of constitution in the country,” he said.
