RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has sought a grant of Rs3 million for working out a feasibility report for the project from Peshawar Road till Motorway Chowk Metro Bus Project, starting from Saddar Metro Bus Command and Control Centre.
However, the option of constructing 11.5 kilometer long metro bus track from Saddar Rawalpindi via Peshawar Road to Motorway Chowk on elevated surface at present has also been declared workable.
According to sources, the elevated track is possible for metro bus track as the expansion of Peshawar Road is not possible due to ongoing construction work and sewerage issues of the area.
Around 10 metro stations on the model of Murree road stations will be constructed in connection with Peshawar Road Metro project while each metro station would be constructed after every kilometre.
There are high chances that services of NESPAK would be utilised for evolving the feasibility report of the project as the NESPAK had also prepared the feasibility report of Rawalpindi Islamabad Metro Bus Project.
