LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore has arrested a station house officer (SHO), Rana Imran Saleem, on corruption charges.
NAB Director General (Lahore) Shahzad Saleem had issued arrest warrants for the accused policeman, who was posted at Gujrat CIA as the station chief. The accused was arrested from Gujranwala.
The authority had earlier launched an inquiry against the accused last year on the complaints of making money beyond known sources. Formal investigation was initiated in April this year.
During the course of investigation, NAB found a number of properties/plots and vehicles allegedly owned by the accused and his family members. Moreover, the NAB also unearthed an “unjustified” cash flow of Rs 17 million into the account of the SHO, and a transaction of Rs 7 million into his wife’s account.
The accused will be produced before an accountability court today (Saturday) to seek his physical remand.
