KARACHI: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB), has claim to have arrested five nominated accused persons during separate raids in parts of a metropolis on Friday.
“These five nominated accused persons were arrested in various raids who were wanted in reference No. 6/17,” said NAB Karachi spokesperson. “Reference had been filed against them on the charges of their alleged criminal role in usurping the plots of 358 genuine allottees of Pak Punjab Cooperative Housing Society limited comprising 25 acres of precious land situated at Sector 24-A, Scheme 33 Karachi.”
The arrested accused persons; Sajid Ali Khan Yousufzai, purported Ex-Secretary of the society, Mirza Munir Baig the then the Assistant Registrar Cooperation Department Government of Sindh, Khudadad Khan Sub-Registrar Gulshan-II government of Sindh and Muhammad Arif and Adnan, in connivance with each other and in convince with secretaries of the mentioned society and officials of Cooperation Department government of Sindh usurped the plots by canceling the allotments of genuine members, enrolling illegal new members on the platform of a bogus new society and illegally selling and transferring the society’s plots to various following builders in return for illegal consideration committing offences of corruption and misuse of authorities, said the spokesperson. Falaknaz Builders (Owners Riaz Ilyas and others), Marhaba and Platinum Builder (Owner Syed Amir Ali Shah, Muhammad Iqbal and Muhammad Arif and Others) and Sanober Builders, constructed various illegal housing and commercial projects on the land of society and earned billions in illegal benefits. “There are 33 nominated accused persons out of whom 13 accused persons are on bail, five accused persons have been arrested on Friday whereas 15 accused persons including builders and illegal allottees are at large”. NAB Karachi has established special teams for causing arrest of accused persons at large, he added.
Meanwhile, Anti-Human Trafficking Cell of the Federal Investigation Agency on Friday claim to have arrested an accused, namely Majid Saleem Jafri, son of Muhammad Saleem. According to FIA spokesperson, the accused is an ex-assistant director NADRA and was nominated in FIR No. 295/16 as was involved in making fake CNICs of aliens.
