LAHORE: A division bench of the Lahore High Court Friday suspended removal of terror-related sections from the Model Town case against workers of the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT).
The bench also barred the anti-terrorism court from transferring the case to an ordinary court. The court sought a reply from PAT until April 17.
The bench was hearing an appeal of the Punjab Prosecution Department challenging the decision of the ATC. The counsel for applicant said that the trial court had allowed an application of the PAT and removed the ATA sections from the case.
He alleged that the PAT was involved in attack on police personnel on June 17, 2014. He asserted that the accused were guilty under the anti-terrorism law and that the trail court’s impugned order should be declared illegal.
