ISLAMABAD: National Security Adviser (NSA) General (r) Nasir Janjua on Tuesday said that promoting enemies of Pakistan across the border has affected the relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Talking to a delegation of Pak-Afghan Chamber of Commerce, he stressed upon the need to improve the economic relation by tackling the terrorism with an iron hand. During the meeting, future prospects of Pak-Afghan relations and issue of border closure also came under discussion. Members of the delegation stressed upon the need of improving economic ties between the two countries. The NSA said that economic interdependence can improve relationship between the two countries as security and economic security are the two sides of the same coin. “Both countries collectively need to find solutions to defeat the menace of terrorism. Flourishing enemies of Pakistan across the borders have affected our relationship to which we must have an answer.” Janjua assured the delegation that their request of opening of borders would be considered.
