NEW YORK: Pakistani-Americans are getting ready to celebrate Pakistan Day, on March 23, in full swing. Programmes related to Pakistan Day will be held in different cities of United States (US).
Pakistani embassy in US, along with UN mission and consulates, will organise various programmes.
Consul General of Pakistan in New York, Raja Ali Ejaz, said that these programmes were a way to express Pakistani-Americans’ love towards their country and also to build a bond of new generation with Pakistan.
Different community leaders have appealed the US-based Pakistanis to participate in the programmes.
“Every year in March, people of Pakistani tri-state area particularly New Orleans states, which are included in our consulate’s jurisdiction, prepare for this day with enthusiasm. This year two programmes will be held in the consulate in the evening on March 23 and 24. One for the diplomatic and other for the Pakistani community,” said Raja Ali Ejaz.
“Pakistan Day will be celebrated in 20 different places. On March 25, Pakistani American Youth Organization will conduct the biggest programme and every Pakistani is welcome there,” said the organisation’s head.
