KARACHI: In an interview with media, Farooq Sattar said that he wanted the government to dismiss the August 22nd cases.
Sattar said, “One tends to have an emotional affiliation with the founder of an ideology,” adding, “Giving up such an old association is indeed a huge sacrifice.”
He further said the party (MQM-Pakistan) is in the process of debriefing party workers. The leader admitted that thirty percent of the party workers still had an emotional affiliation with former party chief Altaf Hussain.
“MQM-P fully understands the issues in Karachi. We have around 2,200 local body representatives on our platform,” said the MQM-P chief.
Moreover, speaking about his recent detention by police, Sattar said, “May be I was given the message that authorities can arrest or release me as they please. I did not care for my life, we (MQM-P) just want a policy. The Workers’ Convention, not Youm-e-Tasees was the measure of our success.”
