RAWALPINDI: With the advent of new academic session, a terrible upsurge in prices of books, uniform, bags, registers and copies have been witnessed in book shops, pushing the poor students and their parents into a perpetual state of agony.
The school management has increased the fee of various classes due to which the admission fee of nursery has increased from Rs14, 000 to Rs20,000, while the monthly fee has registered an increase of Rs 200 to Rs 500. The parents have criticised the school management for imposing the security fee on students.
The parents said that school management is charging Rs 4,000 as security fee; however, they have failed to take any possible security measures to ensure the safety of students.
The private schools have made it mandatory for students to buy uniform, copies and books from their respective canteen.
Meanwhile, a set of books of junior classes in private school is being sold at Rs4500, Rs5800, Rs7000, Rs8500 and Rs9000 -Rs15000 respectively.
The parents are also outraged at the transporters, who are providing pick and drop service to students by increasing the fare.
