LAHORE: Civil Society Network Pakistan (CSNP) on Thursday has strongly condemned the recent wave of terrorism and bomb blasts leading to brutal killing of innocent citizens in Lahore and Parachanar.
In a statement, CSNP President Abdullah Malik said that this brutal act of terrorism is against humanity and the attack on the census team is an attack on a national cause.
Malik said that the militants can’t succeed in their ulterior motives by imposing their orthodoxy through coercive measures. “Such attacks are serious human rights violation and the international community, United Nations and human rights organisations, must take notice of these killings,” he said adding that the world must raise their voices against all those countries that are facilitating the terrorists groups against innocent citizens.
Abdullah Malik added that more than 8,700,000 civilians have lost their lives in different terrorist attacks and about more than 11,000 forces personal sacrificed their lives to eliminate the menace from the society since last two decades. “We are with victims’ families whole heartedly and can feel the pain they are going through”, he said.
Malik said that mere use of force is not an effective way to eliminate terrorism, as it’s a narrative and a narrative only be challenged by a counter narrative. “The terrorists’ narrative is to fight against all those forces that have respect for humanity. The present government is not working on 20 points of National Action Plan in its true spirit, which is why the new counter narrative against terrorism has not placed a worthy volume in the society,” he added.
He also said that we, the members of civil society of Pakistan, completely support the aggrieved families as we are of the view that all the demands presented by them are genuine. “We respect their demands and urge the government to take notice of such serious human rights violations. We will continue to support the families of all those who lost their lives due to terrorism. CSNP demands that NAP must be implemented so that the innocent lives of the citizens of Pakistan can be saved,” said Abdullah Malik.
