KARACHI: Sindh Rangers on Friday claimed to have recovered a huge cache of weapons and ammunition from a shop in Nishtar Road area of the metropolis.
According to the paramilitary force’s spokesperson, the weapons were hidden in the shop by the facilitators of Muttahida Qaumi Movement London (MQM-L) that included four rifles, two 22-bore rifles, six SMGs, seven 8mm rifles, one 12-bore single barrel, three pistols, five revolvers, seven 32-bore revolvers, five crackers and 2,116 rounds of different types.
A Rangers official said that the weapons were meant to be used for target killings and to conduct terrorism activities in the city. Rangers had also appealed to the masses to assist them in eliminating the terrorist activities by informing the security forces on helpline 1101.
Earlier this month, a huge cache of weapons and ammunition were recovered by rangers during a raid on a private school in New Karachi area.
