LAHORE: Clerics on Tuesday said that leadership of Kuwait, Turkey and Pakistan will have to play a key role to resolve the Qatar-Arab rift.
They were addressing “Unity of Ummah” seminar held by the Pakistan Ulema Council. The seminar also welcomed the visit of PM Nawaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff Qamar Bajwa to Saudi Arabia, saying that conspiracies are being hatched to create divisions within Muslims on sectarian grounds. While denouncing terrorist attacks in Saudi Arabia and Tehran, the participants urged the world leadership to stay away from sponsoring terrorists organisations in any capacity.
Addressing the seminar, leadership of Pakistan Ulema Council including Ayub Safdar, Abdul Kareem Nadeem, Tahir Aqeel, Abdul Hameed Wattoo, Shafi Qasmi, Abdul Hakeem Athar and Islamuddin Qasim said, the unity week is being observed in aegis of Pakistan Ulema Council to make an end to sectarian violence from the country as enemies of Islam are hatching nefarious designs to create divisions in the Muslim world on sectarian grounds. Innocent people are being targeted in terrorist’s activities to defame Muslims and Islam all over the world. To ensure peace in the world, peace loving elements should have to get united to defeat extremists and terrorist organisations. Pakistan Ulema Council is committed and united for the cause of unity and to annihilate sectarian violence, extremism and terrorism from Muslim world.
Meanwhile Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi, Chairman Pakistan Ulema Council addressing the seminar stated that Islam doesn’t allow anyone to usurp rights of minorities living in Muslim societies. Islam instructs to Muslims to respect and honour all the heavenly religions and faithful of these religions. Commenting on Qatar-Arab controversy, Tahir Ashrafi said that this rift is being fanned to destabilise Muslim world and differences of Qatar and Arab countries should be settled with talks and peaceful dialogues. He also stated that leadership of every country should stay away from patronising terrorist organisations. He also urged on leadership of Muslims to call Islamic summit on prevailing challenges of Muslim world.
He also said that the unity week is being observed all over Pakistan under the aegis of the Pakistan Ulema Council and 23rd June will be observed as Tahafuz Harman Al Sharefain and Masjid Al Aqsa to express solidarity for defense and security of Harmain Al Sharefain and with the cause of the Palestinians.
PUC Vice Chairman Ayub Safdar said that Muslims are united to eradicate terrorism, extremism and sectarian violence, adding that Qatar-Arab controversy should be settled through Gulf Coordination Council and OIC.
Secretary Information Jamiat Ulema Islam Asim Makhdoom said on this occasion that endeavours on part of Pakistan Ulema Council are praise worthy and announced to endorse decision of Pakistan Ulema Council to observe Jumatul Wida on June 23 as Tahafuz-e-Harman Al Sharefain and Masjid Al Aqsa day.
