GUJRANWALA: A minor boy was killed by his uncle at Kacha Fatumand in the Civil Lines police limits.
It was reported that a five-year-old Ali Haider was going to the mosque with his uncle, 15-year-old Ahmad Raza, when the accused took the minor to an under construction house and slit his throat with a sharp-edged knife. Police shifted the body to the DHQ Hospital, arrested the accused and launched an investigation. It was doubted that the accused killed the boy after a failed attempt of abusing him, while police sources said the facts would be disclosed following the postmortem report.
Second marriage: Meanwhile, a man killed his wife upon her refusal to allow him to contract a second marriage in Khiali area Gujranwala. It was told that Bilal wanted to get married again while his wife Farwa was not permitting him. On Monday they both had a quarrel over the matter and, in a fit of rage, Bilal brutally tortured her. Resultantly, Farwa received serious injuries and was rushed to a hospital where she died. Khiali police have started investigation.
Accident: A man died and three other people received injuries as a result of a collision between a motorcycle rickshaw and a truck on Sialkot Road, Gujranwala. It was reported that passengers were travelling on a motorcycle rickshaw when a speeding truck hit them. Resultantly, four passengers, including an elderly woman, received injuries and were rushed to DHQ Hospital, where a man identified as Azam succumbed to his injuries.
