ISLAMABAD: Balochistan Inspector General Frontier Corps (IGFC) Major General Nadeem Ahmed has said that territorial integrity of the country will be ensured at all costs.
Addressing the news briefing in Chaman on Sunday, he said that Pakistan will never allow any country to cross its territorial boundaries.
He said Afghan border forces tried to interfere in the census drive in the border areas on last Thursday and opened fire on FC personnel deputed on the census duty.
Nadeem said Pakistani Forces retaliated and targeted those Afghan posts from where fire was opened. Major General Nadeem Ahmed said in this unfortunate incident about five Afghan posts were destroyed and more than 50 Afghan security personnel were killed.
He, however, said that no one is happy over the loss of lives of Afghan forces as they are our Muslim brethren. He said Afghan forces used the Pakistani Nationals as human shield and targeted the innocent children.
IGFC said Afghan authorities were informed about the census process, however, its forces created hurdles in the process and targeted the civilian population.
