PESHAWAR: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Fazlur Rehman claimed on Tuesday that he was offered to join the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government in 2013.
“Certain people, backed by the ‘Jewish lobby’, visited me after the 2013 elections and offered me to join the KP government in return for helping them eliminate the roots of Islam in the province,” he said while talking to reporters after meeting dissident Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) members.
“I was told that only the PTI could change the opinion of the people of KP towards the Jewish lobby. However, I declined the offer,” Rehman claimed.
The JUI-F leader said he was told that funds from abroad would be distributed among some seminaries and clerics. “The main aim of the entire plan was to de-Islamise the province,” he said.
