KARACHI: The teams of Pakistan Rangers Sindh have nabbed at least 10 hardened criminals during raids and snap-checking at different areas of the metropolis on Thursday including four who were associated with the MQM-L and one from the Pakistan Sunni Tehrik.
According to official of the Pakistan Rangers Sindh, the paramilitary force has initiated effective patrolling and snap-checking along with search operations in sensitive places and areas on the bases of prior information as the month of Ramdan commenced. On Thursday the teams of Pakistan Rangers while conducting raids and during snap-checking in the areas of Taimuria and Preedi, rounded up five miscreants, four out of them including Mohammad Nadim alias Changa, Mohammad Rizwan alias Ali Lamba, Mushtaq Ahmad and Rajab ali belonged to Mutahidda Qoumi Movement London and one Razaullah affiliated with Pakistan Sunni Tehreek.
“All the suspects were involved in target killing and dumping the weapons for their accomplices and parties used in crimes. They themselves were also involved in many serious crimes” officials added.
Meanwhile three more suspects were nabbed from Qaidabad and Khokhrapar by the rangers namely Jabbar Din, Waseem Tariq alias Radio Wala and Mohammad Azeem who were active in the said areas committing house robberies. It is pertinent to mention that the paramilitary force, the Rangers have asked the citizens of Karachi to contact the paramilitary force if they are forced into paying Zakat or Fitrana during holy month of Ramadan.
“Before giving Zakat and Fitra, you be sure that your Zakat and Fitrana are not being used by militant wings of political parties and other banned militant and sectarian outfits,” reads a statement issued by the Rangers spokesperson. A spokesperson for the Rangers asked the citizens to contact the paramilitary force on Helpline 1101 or Whatsapp 0316-236-9996 and email at rangers.madadgar@gmail.com to register complaints against forceful Zakat or Fitrana. He also appealed the Karachiites to help the Rangers overcome such incidents. Though the Karachi operation has been ongoing for over three and a half years now, the criminal elements and banned outfits that have been involved in forced collection of Zakat and Fitrana till last year, the Rangers had recovered a huge cache of slips of forced collection by militant outfits.
