LAHORE: To eliminate the menace of extremism and terrorism, the government has to ensure the implementation of the National Action Plan, said participants of a religious seminar organised on Thursday.
The ‘Tahafuz Harman Al Sharifain Al-Aqsa Conference’ had been organised in Faisalabad by the Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC) and Jamiat Ulema Ahl Hadis.
The conference was attended by representatives of various religious and political organizations and ulema, including Allama Tahirul Hassan, Maulana Ghulam Ullah Khan, Mufti Muhammad Zia Madni, Maulana Qari Idrees Qasmi, Maulana Tahir Hamza, Pastor Yaqoob, Maulana Habib ur Rehman Abid, Maulana Tayyab Gormani, Syed Fazal Abbas Kazmi and Pir Hafiz Nazakatullah.
The speakers emphasised the need to carry out a joint struggle against elements responsible for disrupting peace of Islamic countries. The speakers also urged the political leadership of the country to counter the allegations of US and Afghan leadership.
They also criticised the government for keeping silent on the prevailing situation in Palestine. “The government should announce its stance on prevailing atrocities of Israel against innocent Palestinians,” they said.
PUC Chairman Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi said that pre-planned conspiracies were being hatched to create anarchy in Muslim countries. He also urged the political leadership of the country to demonstrate patience on Panama Leaks case and wait for the court’s verdict on this issue. “Accountability process should be continued in the country,” he said.
A resolution adopted at the conference condemned the allegations of the US leadership against Pakistan.
The PUC also announced to arrange conferences and seminars during the month of August for the stability of Pakistan.
