ISLAMABAD: As many as 15 people were taken into custody after security forces conducted raids in parts of Punjab and Sindh on Wednesday.
A statement issued by Rangers in Karachi said that eight suspects were apprehended from parts of Sindh, and that the suspects were involved in incidents related to target killing, arson and forced closure of shops.
Rangers also arrested two alleged Lyari gangsters, Zishan Danish and Muhammad Hanif alias Annu who are said to be involved in acts of violence, extortion, ransom and weapon smuggling.
Weapons were also recovered from the suspects.
Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) along with Punjab Rangers also apprehended five terrorists after conducting a search operation in Lahore.
According to an official Inter services public relations (ISPR) statement, the suspects were associated with proscribed organisations like the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and the Tehreek-e-Taliban Swat.
