KARACHI: Governor of Sindh on Tuesday has said that the Prime Minister, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has given a ‘bumper package’ which is even bigger than the National Finance Commission Award for the development of Karachi.
Addressing to a press conference, Sindh Governor has said that the federal government is committed to the development of the Sindh province, particularly Karachi.
M Zubair said when he became the governor he initiated development work for the province. “The federal government has fifty percent contribution in all the development projects of the city.
“Karachi is the financial and economical hub of the country; therefore it needs greater investment and better management system”. He stressed on maintaining peace in the country and adding that it would enhance trade and exports with other countries.
“Green Line is the project of federal government. “Medical college and hospital would be established at Karachi University. We would also bring betterment in the Fire Brigade department besides that “, he vowed.
He was of the opinion that Muttahida Quami Movement was an elected political party and an important part of the city, well aware of the issues of the city.” PML-N has started talks with all stakeholders of Karachi for the commencing development project and schemes”.
“In Karachi there are no strikes and incidents of arson violence any more, today’s Karachi is different from the one of the past”, he opined.
