LAHORE: Hundreds of protestors gathered on the outskirts of Islamabad to oppose the recent omission of the Prophet Mohammad’s reference being the last prophet in a constitution bill.
Public life has been largely disrupted as the gathering of almost 3,000 has camped on the edge of Islamabad. Situation is getting difficult for police as the protesters seek to enter the capital. However, the entrance to capital has been blocked using shipping containers.
The rally was initiated by a few hundred members of a small radical party, Tehreek-i-Labaik Ya Rasool Allah, gathered earlier this week at the Faizabad interchange near Islamabad to protest against law minister.
However, the Law Minister Zahid Hamid issued a formal apology for the omission of the reference, how Muhammad is the last prophet and termed it as a clerical mistake that later got fixed.
