LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri on Thursday announced that he will host an All-Parties Conference (APC) to devise a joint line of action against the PML-N government.
At a joint press conference with AML chief Sheikh Rashid, Qadri said that the ruling regime will have to face arrests, jails and finally gallows. All major political and religious parties will be invited to the APC being held on December 28, he said, adding that consultation will be made with the opposition parties on the future strategy against the government.
Sh Rashid said he would join the APC and on behalf of the PTI. He accused Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi of ‘playing on both sides of the wicket’. He also accused him of distributing secret funds to provide some relief to the former prime minister.
On Wednesday, Qadri said his party will launch ‘Tehreek-e-Qisas’ in response to ‘Tehreek-e-Adl’ announced by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Nawaz Sharif.
Qadri has previously demanded that Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Rana Sanaullah step down from their positions by December 31, in the wake of the Model Town inquiry report.
According to the inquiry report, police tried to cover up the facts regarding who gave orders to open fire on protesters. “The level of cooperation in digging out the truth is that no police official from top to bottom, whether actively participated in the operation or not, did utter a single word about the person under whose command the police resorted to firing upon the PAT workers.”
