KARACHI: Bahria Town Chairman Malik Riaz has on Tuesday denied all rumours regarding his alleged assistance to suspended Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Rao Anwar.
In a message through his official Twitter account, Malik Riaz said that he has been out of Pakistan for the past few weeks and that he has nothing to do with any matter related to Rao Anwar.
The business tycoon added that he was as aggrieved as Naqeebullah’s parents and that he hopes the 27-year-old’s murderers would soon be brought to justice.
Riaz concluded that he has never supported any criminal and that those who have committed Naqeebullah’s alleged encounter will be punished by the law.
Earlier today, police raided a house in Islamabad’s F10 region in search of suspended Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Rao Anwar, but were unable to find him.
The former police officer, who is wanted in Naqeebullah Mehsud’s alleged encounter remains at large as the Supreme Court’s (SC) three-day deadline to arrest Anwar ended earlier today. Police sources told Geo News that a house in the nation’s capital was raided but to no avail.
The raided property, identified as House-133, Street-43, F-10/4, does not belong to the suspended police officer and no one was found inside the premises, said the sources.
