ISLAMABAD: In the wake of his election as permanent party head of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Shehbaz Sharif has on Tuesday said that Nawaz Sharif is irreplaceable and no one, including himself, can fill his void.
Speaking to PML-N Central General Council meeting, Shehbaz said that the current phase of his life is ‘important yet difficult’. He added that none of the party leaders, including himself, can replace Nawaz Sharif and that the former PM ‘will always remain PML-N leader’.
Continuing his speech, the Punjab chief minister said that Pakistan is ‘fortunate’ to have a leader like Nawaz Sharif, adding that the former prime minister is the ‘political heir’ of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
Taking jibes at Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, the Punjab CM said that even an alliance between the two party leaders can not ‘overpower’ the Nawaz league.
