LAHORE: Education Minister Rana Mashood Ahmad Khan said the government is leaving no stone unturned in the promotion of sports across the province, on Tuesday
Presiding over a meeting regarding addition of physical education courses in the curriculum of government schools in collaboration with the British Council, the minister said, “Sports play an important role in the formation of a healthy society and athletes were considered the ambassadors of peace all over the world.” He added that the provincial government was taking effective steps for uplift of sports in the province. He stressed on the importance of physical education to make children physically strong and to project a soft image of the country and to counter militancy, announcing that inter-school competitions would also be held in government schools.
Recruitment of new Physical Education Teachers also came under discussion in the meeting attended by, EDO Lahore Tariq Rafique and Director Programs British council Nasir Nazir and other senior officials.
