LAHORE: Political and military commentator, a satirical website called ‘Khabaristan Times’ is reportedly blocked in Pakistan as Facebook page of the virtual entity claims of no access since January 25.
The development has come in the backdrop of ‘disappearances’ of social media activists earlier this month about which the government has denied involvement, a private television channel reported.
A post on Facebook page of the website states: “There hasn t been any official notification from any regulatory authority regarding the website being banned, but it can’t be accessed anywhere in Pakistan.”
Commentary on the army and Pakistan’s politics has gathered Khabaristan Times over 12,000 likes on Facebook. It should be added here that Pakistan has been often ranked by international organisations among the most dangerous countries for reporters.
