LAHORE: Police claimed that in a shootout on Saturday, at least four suspects were gunned down. However, their associates managed to flee from the site by taking advantage of poor light conditions.
According to Central Investigation Agency (CIA) Police, the four suspects were being taken for identification, when their associates opened fire at police near Manawa area. The suspects included Nadeem, Babar, Sattar and Azam. They were wanted for kidnapping and murder.
According to police, the suspects killed a 14-year-old hostage at Samanabad area in 2016 after taking ransom of Rs 2.5 million.
Local police authorities informed that the suspects killed five people in Millat Park who resisted their robbery attempt. The police apprehended the dacoits, and while the suspects were being shifted for investigation, their accomplices fired on police personnel.
During the clash, three dacoits and one associate was killed while two managed to flee from the spot. The deceased were shifted to a nearby hospital for autopsy.
