ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Bahrain vowed on Sunday to enhance the bilateral cooperation in economic and trade sectors.
The agreement was reached during a meeting between Adviser on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz and Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid Bin Ahmad Bin Mohammad Al Khalifa on the side-lines of ‘Manama Security Dialogue-12th Regional Security Summit’.
Shaikh Khalid will visit Pakistan in the coming month to hold a Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC) meeting in Islamabad after Aziz briefed the Bahraini leader on Pakistan’s success in countering terrorism – which paved the way for sustained economic growth and foreign direct investment.
Aziz said that Bahrain and other countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council can benefit from the opportunities offered by economic turnaround and connectivity projects in Pakistan.
Shaikh Khalid stated that he looked forward to his upcoming visit to Pakistan as an opportunity to lay the foundation of robust economic and trade relations between the two countries.
